What we like:
- Good sports coverage
- Wide range of tailored policies
- Long trip lengths can be covered
- Online medical screening for existing conditions
What we are not so keen on:
- Says 300 pre existing medical conditions are covered free, but only lists 29 - why not list all of them like Staysure!
Single trip cover
No upper age limit on Flexicover policies, (winter sports can be added for those up to 65 years old), covers 100 activities and sports including things like bungee jumping, scuba diving and white water rafting. A full list can be found at the foot of the page.
Annual (Multi trip) cover
Flexicover cover those up to 85 years old policies and can cover trip lengths up to 100 days (35 days for those aged 76 or over and up to 50 days for those aged between 66 and 65 - additional premiums may apply). Again good sports coverage Particularly suitable for those travelling independently, and covers over 300 pre existing medical conditions (although frustratingly only tell you the few of these that can be covered without declaration) - see our section on pre-existing conditions. Discounts are available for families, couples and single parent families.
Winter Sports
Fairly standard ski cover covering up to 17 days on the slopes. See our guides in our Ski section. Covers a reasonable range of additional resort activities
Backpacking Cover
Good cover for sports and activities including voluntary work and farming holidays. Returning to the UK for short periods is allowed, and cover can be extended to cover computer equipment and course fees if studying abroad. Available for those aged 16 - 45.
Long Stay
For those aged up to 75 years old. Can cover trips from 3 months to 18 months (age and geographic restrictions apply for customers over 65). Wide range of sports covered as standard. Winter sports option can be added.
Travel insurance for cruises
Covered - refer to the geographical area definition detailed in the policy wording, if you are travelling to a destination not listed under Europe you must choose the appropriate worldwide destination as specified in the companies terms and conditions and that any activities you plan to undertake are on the approved sports lists.
