What checks should I make when I am loading my hired van?

If you are unsure about your responsibilities when loading a hired a van, continue reading

It is the responsibility of the driver of a rental van to ensure it is loaded safely and securely. You must ensure your van is not overloaded and remember you may be subject to roadside checks by the Ministry of Transport.

Do check that after loading you have made sure that all doors are safely secured and that loads will not be subject to sudden movement which could create a danger to other road users.

Certain types of goods are NOT allowed to be transported in any vehicles that we rent so, if in any doubt, read the terms and conditions carefully or call our team.
