Lions tour in Australia a good excuse for an extended holiday

Rugby fans following the Lions Tour in Australia are looking to book motorhomes on an extended trip around the southern continent. The tour starts with a stop over in Hong Kong on the 1st of June, arriving in Australia at Perth for the 5th June, finishing in Sydney on the 6th of July, full schedule here.
The tour should aid the Australian tourism industry which has been affected by the 17% increase in overseas departure tax to $47 which came into force on 1st July and the strength of the Australian dollar.
Whether you’re a dedicated fan intent on seeing every match (we’d recommend flying the initial Perth to Brisbane leg as you only have 3 days to cover over 4300km) or just taking in a couple of matches, renting a campervan is good way to see more of the country while you are there. Hirers of motorhomes should be aware that insurance excesses can be very high and have worrying exclusions like damage occurring when reversing, windows, tyres, underbody etc. so it is worth sorting out a specialist motorhome insurance policy before you go.
