As number of car club members grow so do the number of companies offering Car Club excess insurance policies! We now provide quick and simple comparison service for those wanting to find policies which not only remove any potential excess liability totally, but also cover items not normally covered by car club policies themselves - such as the wheels, tyres, windscreen, roof and underbody of the vehicle.
Car Club members tend to be liable for the first £500 - £750 of damage to a vehicle and although this risk can be insured through car clubs such as Zipcar, City Car Club and Hertz on Demand policies offered by these companies normally still leave the driver with an excess to pay, and don't cover a number of key areas of the car.
Independent Car Club Excess Insurance also offers the opportunity of covering the car keys or membership card - the loss of which can be very expensive.

Insurance4carhire who offer ClubCar insurance as part of both their European and Worldwide car excess policies (although not their US / Canadian policies) and are currently offering moneymaxim users a 20% reduction on their standard policies. Their policies will cover any number of pickups as long as none are longer than 31 days in duration and have a cumulative limit of £5,000 over a policy year. They include a raft of additional benefits such as lost key / membership card cover, covers damage by misfueling up to £500 per claim and towing costs relating to damage and mechanical breakdown.
Worldwideinsure offer to cover residents of any county and incorporate their Car Club excess insurance as part of both their European and Worldwide Excess Insurance policies. Whilst slightly more expensive than other insurers their policy offers a higher claims limit of £2,000 per incident and £3000 per pickup. They also include added benefits such as lost key cover, misfueling insurance and towing / breakdown assistance.
Icarhireinsurance are the only company who offer a dedicated product for Car Club members, charging an additional premium if car hire excess insurance is required. The policy is only valid in the UK and Europe and provides £2,000 excess cover in total with a £1,000 single incident limit.
All policies should be taken out in the name of the Car Club Members but will also cover Joint & or Partner Members who live at the same address.
