The advantages of using these policies are similar to the car equivalent - lower costs and better cover. The policies remove (or in one case significantly reduce) the excess on the rented vehicle, and are substantially cheaper than policies we have seen directly from van hire insurers.
Currently only daily policies are available, but due to innovation in this market some policies can now cover light commercial vehicles, european use or even offer a discount if a small excess is retained as the drivers responsibility.
