Formed right back in 2002 Insurance4carhire were the pioneers in creating the concept behind Car Hire Excess insurance. The then owner Larry Ursich launched Insurance4carhire following a career in the car hire business, understanding the disproportionate profits rental firms were making from customers wanting to free themselves of the worry of having to pay the excess on their rental car.

Their policies can cover those aged between 21 and 85 with the option of covering up to 7 additional drivers per rental.

In 2007 the company was bought by Towergate, who are Europe's largest independently owned insurance intermediary. The company is fully authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
