The new addition to the Nikon digital camera range - the D31 - has been launched and claims to be the most easy-to-use D-SLR to date with full High Definition (HD) video included. Consumers are urged to compare digital camera insurance to protect against damage and theft.
Designed for newcomers to D-SLR photography this camera is expected to be a hit among young families who are keen to take good pictures without the hassle of working out complicated functions.
The camera includes a range of automatic settings so it does all the work for the user with a Guide Mode which takes the photographer through step-by-step instructions on how to achieve the picture you want.
"This is the ideal camera for families who want to capture all the important moments in perfect quality, without worrying about settings," said Jordi Brinkman, Nikon Europe project manager.
"It also has the popular Guide Mode as seen on the D3, which now shows you sample images of what you can achieve with certain settings, for example if you change the shutter speed or aperture."
Additionally, the HD movie function is an enviable feature where an easy-access movie record button enables the user to instantly switch to video mode, and the D-Movie function allows you to record HD movie clips with sound.

As an essential item for any family occasion and day out, the D31 from Nikon is likely to incur wear and tear and although the tough exterior and compact size is likely to protect it from most damage it is still advised to take out insurance.
