Car hire insurers all have certain criteria for their cover and these criteria differ. By including your age and your residency, we can ensure that all the policies shown can cover you. Each insurer will have separate policies to cover cars, vans, motorhomes or minibuses, so choosing the right category is extremely important. A car hire excess insurance policy will not cover you if you have hired a motorhome.
The dates and times you use should cover your entire rental period. If you are renting a car for longer than about 16 days, you may see that you are shown annual policies in your results. This is because they become the cheaper option for longer hires (and the benefit is they could cover you for another car hire in the same year!).
For many drivers, filling out our quote form is enough to be able to get quotes to cover the excess on their car hire. Finding car hire excess insurance to fit your dates is pretty simple but each policy has varying levels of cover and many have unique features so deciding which one to go with can take a little more time.
