We review Questor Car Hire Excess Insurance policies, and explain the cover offered.Visit Questor
By using car hire excess insurance, car renters have the opportunity to insure themselves against the excess charges that rental companies dish out should the car rented be stolen or sustain damage. If you require more information concerning car rental excess insurance, visit our car hire excess insurance hub. Questor Insurance offers cover at substantially reduced rates (compared to those available directly from car rental companies at their rental depots) offering renters the opportunity to buy either short term (up to 180 days) or annual policies.
Excess costs up to £2000 ($80,000 on worldwide policies) are covered by this policy. Questor Insurance is one of the few insurers to offer the opportunity to cover rentals from your home town although, if this option is not required, a cheaper premium applies.
Drivers between the ages of 21 and 84 can be covered without any of the loadings being applied that are placed on younger or older drivers. In addition, a useful feature is that a second driver can be added to the policy and they can make independent rentals if an additional premium is charged. Most policies will only provide cover if the policyholder is the person taking out the rental agreement.
An unlimited number of additional drivers can be covered as long as they are named on the car rental agreement.
£300 of baggage cover is included and the tyres, undercarriage and wheels are covered - this is not normally the case when policies are taken from car rental companies themselves
Questor Insurance also offer policies which provide full Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Supplementary Liability Insurance (SLI) as well as just excess insurance. CDW / SLI cover is offered as it is required in the US, Canada, South America, the Caribbean and a few countries in the Middle and Far East.
The Questor insurance policy is underwritten by White Horse Insurance, whilst AXA Assistance handle claims on Questor's behalf.
