What Cover does Car Hire Insurance provide for Curtailment or Restitution?

Restitution or Curtailment cover can compensate you if you fall ill whilst renting a car

This insurance is aimed to recompense policyholders for their rental costs (or part of them) should they have to return the vehicle early as the driver has fallen ill or is unable to continue with the hire.

The benefit is at a fixed level and, depending on the time of year you hire your car, might only partially cover the cost. Curtailment cover limits are outlined within the 'Details' section next to each policy once you have run a quote and have your table of results.

Companies who offer this cover are compared on the MoneyMaxim car hire insurance comparison service. Normally only the insured (lead driver) is covered.
