Can I pick my car up in one place and return it to another?

If you are interested in knowing more about 'one way' car hire, read the information below.

You can normally arrange one way hires as long as you want to use one of the big names in the car rental business, rent a mid range car (economy cars, exotic vehicles, vans and minibuses are sometimes excluded), want to both pick up and return the car in the same country, and potentially are prepared to pay an extra fee (although this can be fairly nominal).

If you are taking a longer road trip (a country where travelling in one direction is common) - say Australia, America or New Zealand and are prepared to be flexible - you could find an incredibly cheap - even free deal. The reason for this is sometimes car hire companies and motorhome rental companies have more customers going in one direction than another (most people go from Christchurch to Auckland for instance) so will offer extraordinary cheap deals to get you to relocate vehicles in the opposite direction. It saves them a job! Talk to us if you would like further information.

We suggest you run a quotation through one of our car hire partners to access the costs involved. Compare car hire insurance prices with MoneyMaxim
