Garage of the Year competition celebrating their third edition

The OFT-approved self-regulator for the automotive industry, Motor Codes, has called all UK motorists to vote for the 2012 Garage of the Year.

The OFT-approved self-regulator for the automotive industry, Motor Codes, has called all UK motorists to vote for the 2012 Garage of the Year.

In the third annual Garage of the Year competition, British drivers can rate and review their service experience at garages, ranging from the smallest independent garages to bigger franchise dealers.

Motorists will vote for different businesses on the basis of the Motor Codes standards. The competition is fast becoming a hallmark of quality in the industry. Garages voted as the UK's best in terms of customer service, quality of work and value for money could benefit from an increase in business.

Currently up to 6,500 OFT-approved Motor Codes garages across the country have signed up to the competition. In the last two editions, thousands of UK drivers voted for their favourite garages and organisers highlighted that this year's competition is set to be ‘bigger than ever'.

"The vast majority of garages out there provide top quality customer service. Garage of the Year helps point out the good guys so that motorists don't need to worry about making a costly mistake in choosing a garage,” said Chris Mason, managing director at Motor Codes.

Mason pointed out that the competition's aim is not just to seek out the best garage but also to show UK motorists that there are many reputable dealers in the industry.

Voting started on February 24 and the top 50 garages will be shortlisted next April.

Protecting your car

Considering the rising cost of car maintenance, with increases in areas such as petrol and car insurance, taking care of your vehicle and getting it serviced by trusted garages is critical to extending the life of your car. Similarly, comparing car insurance quotes online is another ‘must-do' for UK drivers in their bid to keep motoring costs down.****
