The Nintendo 3DS will be launched on March 27 for eager gamers keen to play their favourite games on the state-of-the-art portable device.
If you are intending to purchase the new release from Nintendo be sure to compare games console insurance to cover you should it become damaged or stolen.
The touch-screen gaming device provides 3D visuals without the need for the user to wear special glasses and will be available in either Cosmo Black or Aqua Blue.
Nintendo 3DS has two screens – the bottom touch screen makes use of a telescoping stylus, while the top screen displays the 3D visuals to the naked eye.
"Nintendo 3DS is a category of one – the experience simply doesn't exist anywhere else,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America president.
"You have to see Nintendo 3DS to believe it. And it's like nothing you've ever seen before.”
The system includes a 3D Depth Slider so the players can select the level of 3D that they enjoy the most, and the 3D effect can be ratcheted up to the highest level or turned off completely.
The familiar control pad and button controls found on previous Nintendo hand-held models includes a new circular pad, this provides 360 degrees of direction to give players the freedom and precision needed to play games to the best of their ability.
Compare Games Console Insurance
If you have a son or daughter who is looking forward to spending their hard-earned cash on a Nintendo 3DS this spring, check that your insurance covers new devices.
If you already have gadget insurance you may need to inform your provider that you wish to add the device to your policy, and this may increase your premium.
For one expensive item it may be worth comparing insurance that is specific for that device, like games consol insurance, especially a portable one like the Nintendo 3DS that is more likely to become damaged or stolen when taken from place to place.
