What is Jailbreaking?

Jailbreaking is the process of modifying your iPhone, iTouch or iPad to allow it to run and download unapproved extensions such as themes or applications. This process makes Apple's warranty on the device void, however it is still incredibly popular and many reports suggest that slightly under 1% of iPhone users have performed a jailbreak on their phone.

"Damage resulting from alterations, maintenance including cleaning and restoring, repairs, faulty or defective design."

Suggesting that if you are claiming for a broken screen, it would only matter if the screen was broken whilst your were making the alterations to your software.

Policies covering you for the breakdown of your iPhone are more likely to question claims, as there maybe doubt as to whether the breakdown was caused by the Jailbreak.
